What Are Green Skills
In general, green skills are the knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to live in, develop and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society.
Green skills contribute to the preservation or restoration of environmental quality, ecosystems, biodiversity, and natural resources. These skills facilitate a transition to a sustainable economy, thereby improving resource efficiency and environmental protection.
Green skills enhance existing skills for greening all occupations and the acquisition of specific green skills for new green jobs in industries such as waste and water management, renewable energy, ecotourism, and environmental consulting services.
What are Green Jobs?
Green jobs are the occupations supporting the transition to greener economy and society.
UNEP defines green jobs as work in agricultural, manufacturing, research and development (R&D), administrative, and service activities that contribute substantially to preserving or restoring environmental quality. Specifically, but not exclusively, this includes jobs that help to protect ecosystems and biodiversity; reduce energy, materials, and water consumption through high-efficiency strategies; de-carbonize the economy; and minimize or altogether avoid the generation of all forms of waste and pollution.

What is Green Transition?
The concept of the green transition, developed primarily to address climate change and promote the efficient use of resources, encompasses both economic and environmental sustainability.
The "green transition" is defined as a shift away from production models that harm the environment and rely heavily on natural resources, toward practices that respect planetary boundaries and are grounded in long-term global sustainability, a circular economy, and low carbon emissions, while promoting resilience and social well-being globally.
Green Entrepreneurship
Green entrepreneurship (sometimes called ecological entrepreneurship), is entrepreneurship that provides products or services with the least possible harm to the environment through an innovative approach. Characteristics of green entrepreneurship include sustainability, efforts to improve environmental conditions, and innovative ideas that have both social and economic implications.
The main difference between a green entrepreneur and a traditional entrepreneur is that a green entrepreneur creates a business model that is economically profitable, environmentally conscious, and generates social value.
In addition, green start-ups can be defined as newly established companies that offer products or services with environmental benefits.
